Anne Marie Hansen

President & CEO

Anne Marie Hansen is the President and Founder of Gianna Homes, a residential care home for Alzheimer’s and other memory loss patients, since 1999. Prior to this she was the director of other metro area care facilities and has an extensive background in home care services. Her strong background in Aging Adult Care, Palliative Care with a special focus on dementia care and business administration studies through St. Thomas University have presented Anne Marie with opportunities to consult across the country for models of care similar to Gianna Homes. Her dedication to making a contribution in the field of memory loss and senior care comes from very personal experiences and she instills that commitment into each employee that works for Gianna Homes to provide unique, individualized care which preserves the dignity of each resident while providing for his or her medical, social and spiritual needs.

Anne Marie serves on several non-profit boards and is a life-long volunteer. In April 2010 she traveled to Haiti to aid in the relief efforts following a devastating earthquake, and has organized several charity gala events, all to benefit small local non-profits. She is a frequent guest speaker on Relevant Radio regarding aging issues, is very involved in pro-life work, has lobbied for senior quality care rights, and is a proponent of education in medical ethics.

She is an active member of E-Women Network, the National Association of Professional Women, the Catholic Medical Association, Christian Business Women’s Forum, The Minnesota Alzheimer’s Association, has been directly involved in teen evangelization, parish and education concerns in her community, and teaches Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at her church. Most notably, Anne Marie was the recipient of the 2009 Leading With Faith award.

Other volunteer commitments have included: the Courage Center, Catholic Youth Camp, St. Michael’s Academy, Steubenville North, Habitat for Humanity, Sharing and Caring Hands, St. Steven’s shelter, St Paul’s Homeless Initiative, Holy Family Residence and Our Lady of Good Counsel Cancer Home.

Her entrepreneurial spirit comes from growing up in a family owned business and owning and operating another company, Rose Ste. Maries Cakes and Pastries, for over thirteen years. In her spare time she enjoys a variety of pastimes, including competitive ballroom dance, gardening, cooking, sewing, the arts, reading, friends, and her large family of eight siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
